Baby Shower Website Reaches Record Number of Visitors This Stay At Home Mom Reveals The Secret To Making a Living From Home

After two years of plugging away at her baby shower website, Amy Cordray is finally celebrating, after hitting a milestone number of visitors.

3500 visitors may not seem like a large number to the big guys out there, but for Cordray's hand-built site, it is quite an accomplishment.

In the fall of 2005, Cordray stumbled across a company on the web that offered all of the tools to create a website based solely on your passion. And by following their guide, it would allow you to build a successful online business.

Skeptical at first, Cordray sat on the idea for a few weeks and then thought, "what the heck", and decided to take the plunge.

It has now been almost 3 years and there are definitely no regrets.

Cordray has a crafty side to her and decided to make her website all about baby shower s. It is full of ideas for baby shower games, decorations, favors, cakes and more.

When asked how many hours a week she works on her site, she responded, "The first year I had my site, I would work on it about 20 hours a week. But since it was based on a topic I loved, it didn't feel like work at all. I would actually sneak away and secretly work on it because it was so much fun! But now that the website is established, I only need to work on it for about 5 hours a week for maintenance."

"I currently make around $3,000 per month and it continues to grow," says Cordray.

She also adds that "The key to making a successful web site is by creating tons of valuable content that readers are searching for. I don't actually sell anything on my site, I make money by placing Google ads on each page and by recommending cute products from other companies. Any time somebody clicks on one of those links or buys something from an affiliate site, I get paid! And best of all, I knew nothing about technical web site design when I started, and I still don't todaythe company I use takes care of all of that and lets me focus on creating content."

Many moms who choose to remain at home with their children want to contribute financially to the family. This approach gives offers:

* A flexible job that can be done anytime from home (or anywhere) without a schedule, bosses, or even customers

* A creative outlet for their talents/skills/passion, something that is different from their day-to-day responsibilities to kids, husband, home

* An uncomplicated way to generate income successfully, without huge entry or overhead costs

* Work that allows them to "be there" for their kids

"An online business can be affordable, flexible, and convenient. You can work at your Web site and business when you like, at the speed that suits you, and still put the all-important needs of your family first," says Cordray.

"On the flip side," Cordray warns, "the internet is inundated with get-rich-quick schemes. So evaluate the opportunities out there carefully. Anything that offers great rewards for little or no work is a fraud. Think about it -- why would they need you"

Amy Cordray is dedicated to helping other moms (or dads) who want to be free from the 9 to 5 job treadmill that most of us are on. She has set up a web page full of free tips, eBooks and information on how you can start your own website.
