To empower our children, you first must educate them," he says.

This statistic is as frightening as it is true. Unfortunately, far too many American parents have an "It can't happen to my kid" attitude. This very attitude may be one of the major contributors to this national crisis.

The primary goal of Safe Kids Card of Central California is to reduce the alarming numbers of lost, missing, abducted, and runaway children by taking a proactive approach. The second goal of Safe Kids Card of Central California is to educate the public on how to prevent child abductions, how the Amber Alert system works, and how critical time is when the impossible happens. Nebeker has started offering schools, groups, etc. a free program called "Safety N.E.T. Kids" No Easy Targets, that is geared to teach children its okay to say no, what to do when they are approached by a stranger, and how to react in other potentially dangerous situations.
