Cincinnati, Ohio June 13, 2009 -- Paideia Academy of St. Louis Missouri marks its annual fund raiser by honoring author Robby G. Dixon and the March release of his first book, Reclaiming Our Children: Exposing the Nets That Snare Them as keynote speaker.
Theft, armed robbery, gang warfare and school shootings continue to permeate our society, and young people are paying the price with incarceration. With a timely message about today'ss
critical topics, such as parenting and child psychology, the Dallas author hopes to take the literary world by storm and with shock value in his new book. Parents need to be conscious of
what is happening in their children'ss daily lives, not just aware. There is a clear distinction that needs to be recognized and practiced, said Dixon.
For an audience of 250, Dixon will focus his discussion on important topics from his book. Reclaiming Our Children: Exposing the Nets That Snare Them gives a call worldwide for an
immediate 'stransformation in our nation'ss consciousness's to restore understanding of our youth before it'ss too late.
Asking crucial questions, this controversial book reveals how our youth is influenced and actually guided to criminal behavior. My first-hand research dissects societal reasons for this
rampant distressed conduct and the certain path to prison if left unrecognized by parents and their children, Dixon said.
William Perkins, Director of the Center for Pre-College Programs (CPCP) at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, took an avid interest in Robby Dixon'ss book and its strong
message about children and criminal acts. Perkins counsels grades kindergarten through eight, and also high school youth using many programs through summer camps, campus workshops and
academic competitions.
Perkins's new workshop uses a discussion guide he developed to accompany Robby Dixon'ss book, Reclaiming Our Children: Exposing the Nets That Snare Them. Visit Web site www.ReclaimingOurChildren.com. This guide features excerpts of Dixon'ss book followed by questions that will assist users in identifying with
the book'ss critical topics. The workshops will help parents and youth develop personal action plans to help make positive choices, and to understand the consequences that result from
negative ones, including a life of crime and imprisonment.
Some of the topics in the discussion guide are geared towards adults and parents, for the purpose of working on the creation of their own action plans in order to better serve youth and
their children. Conversely, other topics are directed towards youth, and they will need assistance from adults in developing an individual action plan, Perkins said.
Robby Dixon lectures at schools, prisons, churches in the Dallas and Houston, Texas areas, and in Northern California. He currently is touring in the United States to promote his book and
