Website Association Brings Web Surfing to New Level for Fans of the National Football League



The NFLFSA (National Football League Fan Site Association, http://www.nflfsa.com) has created a union of fan based Websites that will provide websurfers with access to team specific content, active message boards, schedules, chat rooms, and articles.

Utilizing a custom navigation bar that is found in the same location throughout the member websites, fans are able to access websites representing the fan forums for each team, as well as links to official National Football League websites, Major League Baseball websites, National Basketball Association websites and current media sources.

According to Ron Block, one of the founding members of the NFLFSA, the alliance chose to use the navigation bar because, "Websurfers are given a consistent, easy to use navigational tool as well as a way of instantly identifying member websites. By moving the navigational tools to the top of the page they become small and, while being out of the way, still contain links to well over one hundred Websites.".

Taking the alliance to the next level, the membership charter for the NFLFSA lays out requirements that ensure visitors the finest websites available; for example, Section 3 of the charter dictates that member Websites can not be hosted on a free hosting server, making certain that visitors enjoy an internet experience free of pop-up ads.

The current membership of sixteen fan Websites is an indication of how meticulous the alliance is when it comes to applications. However, new sites continue to apply and the alliance should soon reach capacity.
