Axiope Announces the Release of Catalyzer 20 to be Licensed by Childrens Hospital Boston

March 14, 2005 -- The exchange of scientific data on the web becomes easier today with the release of Catalyzer version 2.0 from Axiope. With rapid set up and automated web publishing, the same easy to use software for organizing laboratory research data now let's you share it with anyone.

"These improvements have been driven by customer requests to use Catalyzer for data management in core facilities and research collaborations." said Kyle Hart, Director of Product Marketing. "Catalyzer 2.0 lets researchers securely share their data on the web without requiring technical expertise or custom website development."

Children's Hospital Purchases Site License
Children's Hospital Boston, the largest pediatric medical center in the United States, has purchased a site license for Catalyzer. Researchers at Children's evaluated Catalyzer over the past year as part of an effort to increase the protection and usability of research data. "Catalyzer is as close to the intuitive nature of scientists as possible. The software takes the investigator's view, which is rare and distinguishes it from others," said Brian Lobao, Director of Research Operations at Children's.

Researchers at Children's have used Catalyzer to manage a wide variety of data including images, protocols, samples, experiments, animals, and documents. "Getting researchers to adopt new software to organize their data requires a paradigm shift", said Lobao. "We recognize the benefits of searchable archives and a commitment to improving the way data is managed. Our researchers found Catalyzer a useful and exciting tool."

Unprecedented Scalability From One Researcher to Thousands
Catalyzer 2.0 extends the intuitive Catalyzer cataloging environment with a scalable web server that features web publishing, multi-user access control, comprehensive searching, and version archiving. With these new features, the same data organization that an individual researcher uses to track individual experiments can be utilized to create large databases on the web that are shared securely with others.

These capabilities significantly reduce the cost of developing websites for exchanging data between scientists. Any type of data can be exchanged and it can be organized by the researchers themselves to follow changes in experimental assays.
