ICON Distributes Firstever Infant Child CPR DVD

The American Red Cross, American Heart Association and National Safety Council recently agreed on NEW guidelines for performing CPR.



On June 20, 2006, Matty Mo Media and Icon MES, release INFANT & CHILD CPR 's8211; WHAT EVERY PARENT SHOULD KNOW 's8211; the first DVD to market demonstrating these new techniques - in English and Spanish.



Drowning is the leading cause of death in children ages 1-to-4. Airway obstruction is the leading cause of injury-related deaths among infants under age 1. If a child is not administered CPR within two minutes, brain damage, long-term disabilities or death may result.



In the time it takes to get a towel (10 seconds), a bathing child can become submerged. Or to answer the phone (2 minutes), the same child can lose consciousness.



When emergencies occur, immediate bystander resuscitation could mean the difference between life and death. INFANT & CHILD CPR 's8211; WHAT EVERY PARENT SHOULD KNOW demonstrates traditional and new methods clearly and easily. Performing these techniques buys precious time until 911 arrives.



The INFANT & CHILD 's8211; WHAT EVERY PARENT SHOULD KNOW DVD is hosted by Registered Nurse and certified CPR instructor, Tracy Kalemba. The easy-to-navigate menu includes chapters demonstrating both infant and child CPR skills (traditional and new methods), choking skills, safety and childproofing tips, SIDS information, water safety, car seat safety and more.



New parents are urged during prenatal visits to learn infant and child CPR as part of their regular infant care routine.
