Ms. Pershay is at it again teaming up with the Kumble Theater of the Performing Arts; in introducing another smash production. These groups of Brooklynites have teamed up with a cast from Queens, Bronx, Manhattan and Philadelphia to put on this awesome production together for your enjoyment.
PDM Productions have delivered some powerful Christians plays that deal with real issues in the church that no one wants to talk about. Ms. Pershay seems to be really radical in that area where she shares from personal experiences of what she or others have dealt with in today's urban church. When we asked Ms. Pershay why take her plays out of the church and bring them to Broadway Her reply was simple "My plays are for all people and not just church people" she goes on to say "I enjoy outreach ministry it's my calling".
PDM Production produced Journey of a Blackman in 2006, Tales of 2 Spirits, 2005, Love Don't Live Here Anymore in 2004 and Drama High in 2003. PDM Productions is currently releasing their next hit Journey of a Black Woman - Truth Exposed. Ms. Pershay explains that this play is very special it focus on church rape, sexual abuse, predators' in the church, dysfunctional family members, cheating husbands, cheating family members, and family abandonment. Ms. Pershay is hailed as the next female Tyler Perry and we asked her how she felt about that.
Her reply was this: "I wear my own shoes and I try not to fit in another. Although, I am honored my focus is to exposed the truth; at the same time let people know that Jesus is the way the truth and the light."
Ms. Pershay knows first hand that having a Godly relationship helped her heal through her own rape and molestation as a youth. "Once I was able to draw Strength from my walk with God, I wanted share it with others". We asked Ms. Pershay what makes this play more special than her other projects. Her reply "Pain and suffering birth this play from my wound I had to go through some serious hardship. "I saw things in church that bothered me and yet people felt it was okay to look the other way" "I battled with what I witness in the body of Christ because God did not keep me blind to what I was seeing". I wrote this in play in pain and I finished it in healing".
