Young Dance Collective to Perform Right Here. Right Now.

The Young Dance Collective announces the performance schedule for their newest work "Right Here. Right Now", to be held at PS 122.

The shows will run from June 5-8, 2008.

RIGHT HERE. RIGHT NOW.

This thoughtful dance performance explores the art of becoming one's self as interpreted by seven inspired and inspiring teen artists. The Young Dance Collective hurtles against and through expectations of where they are in the scheme of life. Alert, ardent, open and decisive, this sophisticated company offers a formative investigation that reveals the intelligence and intensity of our youth.

"Don't think about the past. Don't think about the future. Don't think about what you are going to do the next day. Invest yourself entirely in the here and now." Thict Nhat Han

About the Young Dance Collective (YDC)

The Young Dance Collective (http://www.youngdancecollective.org) is a dance company for young people, entirely devoted to the artistic growth and exploration of its members. YDC embraces the art community here in New York City and encourages support, teaching and guidance from distinguished members of New York City's dance community. The YDC has been fortunate to work with Andrew Palermo and Taye Diggs, Larry Keigwin, Brian Brooks, Noemie LaFrance, Johannes Weiland and Pascal Rioult on several projects. At present, we rehearse at Gus Solomon's Jr.'s studio and are very grateful to him for the use of his beautiful space.

"I thought I would be mentoring these kids, and they ended up mentoring me," said Brian Brooks, Dance Magazine December 2006
