A Variety of Skill Levels are in Demand at Integrated Service Solutions...

A leader in providing technical equipment services to the FDA regulated life sciences industry, Integrated Service Solutions, Inc. is actively recruiting to fill several field service positions. Throughout the 4th quarter of 2008, we filled four open positions in our customer service, business development, finance and IT departments, says Catherine Peetros, Director of Business Development. Those were all expansion opportunities brought about by increased demand for services. Now, in the first quarter of 2009, we are looking to hire at least four additional field service personnel to join the company, added Peetros.

While many pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies are strapped for cash, they are looking for ways to help contain their costs. One way is to outsource their equipment maintenance thereby greatly reducing their overhead and administrative costs.

We are looking to add to our payroll, said Joseph Uricchio, Founder and President of Integrated Service Solutions, Inc. However, Uricchio bemoans the shortage of individuals with the talent he needs. Most people don'st even realize that this business segment exists. While it'ss field service, it'ss not a widely known trade such as plumbing or electrical that is readily taught in schools. Thus, it makes it hard to find people with the experience to work on pharmaceutical equipment and who enjoy the field service lifestyle. So we look to mentor individuals with mechanical ability, we seek returning veterans trained in electronics and we recruit on Internet job boards as well as through local colleges and trade schools, he added.

A variety of skill levels are in demand at Integrated Service Solutions, Inc. and those include mechanics as well as individuals with advanced degrees in chemistry or engineering. Much of the equipment that the company services are highly specialized and critical to drug manufacturing, adds Peetros. A rigorous training program for field personnel complemented by effective quality assurance gives companies that contract with us assurance that they are not only able to help reduce their costs but also to be in compliance with FDA rules and regulations, says Peetros.
