Terrell Terrell CPAs LLP Streamlines Medicine Chests PayrollProcessing

For over a decade, Medicine Chest has served communities in East Texas, Houston, and Western Louisiana by operating 26 open-door pharmacies and two pharmaceutical facilities that supply nursing homes and other health facilities. Medicine Chest has used Sage Accpac ERP to fulfill their accounting needs since the pharmacy started in 1999. As new locations were added, payroll became more time consuming. Employee'ss hours were tracked manually and then faxed in to a central location where the data was keyed in. Facing longer processing times and potential data entry errors, Medicine Chest turned to Terrell 's38; Terrell for help.



Terrell 's38; Terrell developed specifications for an online time entry system; managed the development of the project, testing, implementation; and conducted on-site training during rollout of the system.



Now at each location, employees launch an Internet browser and access a secure online system to enter their hours. From there, the on-site manager can review the information to ensure accuracy. When the timecards are approved, the data is ready to go directly into Sage Accpac'ss Payroll module, said Donna Gore, Medicine Chest'ss payroll manager. I run payroll for 400 employees every two weeks. I can do the whole process in two days by myself. It used to take a lot longer than that, plus we no longer worry about data entry errors. Employees are paid correctly.
