Friedrich Air Conditioning Donation Program

With little relief from record-breaking heat in sight, San Antonio's8217;s Friedrich Air Conditioning has donated 100 of its Energy Star's8482;-rated air conditioners to area non-profit organizations.

It is the single largest product donation in the company's8217;s 126-year history, according to Brian Campbell, vice president of sales and marketing.

The first unit was installed at the home of a single mother who recently suffered a heat stroke and had to be hospitalized. Elisabeth Rodriguez said she and her six-year-old daughter have 's8220;really been suffering this summer.'s8221;

's8220;This wonderful donation from Friedrich will make our lives much easier,'s8221; said Rodriguez, who suffers from diabetes.

Brian Campbell, Friedrich's8217;s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said,

's8220;It has come to our attention that hundreds of San Antonio's8217;s most vulnerable children, the elderly and other individuals in need would suffer less from the dangerous heat if only they had a few hours of cool air each day.'s8221;

Many of the recipients will be eligible for the CPS energy program for low-income individuals. Friedrich's8217;s high-efficiency air conditioners also may qualify them for rebates which can be applied to their electricity bills.
