A number of years ago a construction manager contacted Heat-Line Freeze Protection Systems (http://www.heatline.com) and asked if they could find a solution for freezing plumbing vents (small pipes that project from a roof to expel waste and sewer gases from your drain waste system) in the Arctic. This request lead to the development of the ArcticVent.
Since that time, the ArcticVent has been getting specified for projects and renovations throughout the Arctic and Heat-Line is pleased to announce their most northern installation of the
product.
A number of ArcticVent units have recently been ordered to be installed on the top of the globe at the Eureka Nunavut Weather Station. The closest weather station to the north pole,
Eureka is located on Ellesmere Island where winter temperatures of -55's176; F (-48's176; C) are not uncommon and where average January temperatures are -30's176; F (-34's176; C).
Heat-Line announces that their products are becoming widely used in the circumpolar regions of the world but this is the closest one to the pole that they know of.
Lorne Heise, the company'ss founder, said that he never would have dreamed of having anything at the North Pole 23 years ago when he began to develop and invent specialized and much
needed freeze protection products. When asked if the products can withstand the brutal natural environment of the Arctic, Heise smiles and explains that his products are specified because
that is exactly what they are invented, engineered and designed for. Heise explains that there are at least 6 new products on the horizon including freeze-protected, flexible, high
pressure hoses and others that are still under secrecy protocol.
Heise began this incredible journey in his garage on Kushog Lake in Haliburton, Ontario back in the 80'ss. Since then, he has built Heat-Line Corporation and Christopher MacLean Ltd.,
multi-million-dollar, manufacturing and research companies located in the heart of Haliburton County. Heise is completely dedicated to developing innovative new products to solve the age
old problems associated with sub zero temperatures and freezing throughout the world.
