Two Years After Wifes AntidepressantInduced Suicide Allan Routhier Plans DC Protest

Fed up with waiting for the FDA to take serious measures to protect the public from dangerous psychotropic medications like the one that caused his wife, Diane, to take her own life 2 years ago at the age of 40, Allan Routhier has decided to vent his outrage through a protest in front of the White House.

His decision to organize a protest follows closely on the heels of the recent FDA Public Health Advisory linking antidepressants to suicide in adults as well as pediatric patients.

On August 24, 25 and 26 from 9am to 5pm Allan and his 2 sons will be joined by other victims, their family members and leaders in the fight to raise public awareness of the dangers of these medications like Dr. Anne Blake Tracy of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness. Many other activist organizations including Mothers Against Manufactured Madness, A.S.P.I.R.E. and Mindfreedom will be lending their support.

The Routhier family, represented by Alan Milstein of Sherman, Silverstein, Kohl, Rose and Podolsky, has filed suit against GlaxoSmithKline, the manufacturer of the drug Wellbutrin which they intend to prove caused Diane, a woman with no history of mental illness, to end her life. Her doctor, Timothy G. Keenan MD, is also named as a defendant.
