Michael Gianatasio, a registered Republican, has been circulating petitions for Westchester County Legislator in the third legislative district. The third district covers all of North
Castle, Mount Pleasant, West Harrison and parts of Greenburgh.
A resident of Armonk in the Town of North Castle, Gianatasio is a licensed professional engineer with his office located in Westchester County. He will seek the third district legislative
seat, which was vacated by former County Legislator, Robert Astorino.
"As a registered Republican, having bi-partisan support speaks volumes about the amount of confidence the leaders have in my ability to work on significant county issues", Gianatasio
explained. "The residents of the third district continue to show overwhelming support for my campaign. Their faith in me has indeed inspired me to run and effectively represent them as
their new county legislator. I am determined to work with the present administration and implement meaningful legislation, practice fiscal responsibility and continue to cut taxes. Today
it is imperative to work with the GOP and Democratic members on the Board so the residents receive the full benefit. I welcome the bi-partisan support that has been pouring in which is an
encouraging sign for all the residents I will represent in this seat."
Gianatasio will face Suzanne Swanson, who is registered Conservative Party member and retired, former county legislator, in a Republican Primary this September.
"I look forward to a spirited campaign right to primary day." Gianatasio believes old ideas will not do as noted by the condition of the many programs and policies Mrs. Swanson supported
in the past. "County government has changed since Mrs. Swanson was a legislator years ago. Some of the decisions made back then have adversely affected the way the county government
operates today. Utilizing bi-partisan support, we will change these antiquated policies and bring the county back to financial health by working hard, with a new vision and fresh
ideas".
Gianatasio goes on to state, "There is no reason for a second chance in this business. The residents have placed their faith in you and expect you to get it right the first time".
