Should the Brady Campaign be Allowed to Slander Your State

January 18, 2005 --Liberal Liars are out of control and its high time we the public demanded truth in fact reporting. Two different groups look at the same information but add the numbers up differently. They do not report the "Hidden Math" that takes place to justify their arguments. This press release was an advertisement and it was false advertising designed to increase contributions to their organization. This practice is illegal in all 50 states yet it's applauded by the Liberal Liars who support the thinking that uses no thought.

The states were graded on 7 loaded categories, one of which the CCW law was graded in complete reverse. States that actually required the strictest training (New Mexico) received one of the worst grades. States that allowed local police to use "Common Sense" in issuing CCW (Including California) were downgraded. It seemed like they were actually seeking fewer standards to carry a CCW in order to allow criminals to mix in the numbers and improve their position of no guns allowed.

Other categories were covered by federal law and states received a failing grade if they didn't duplicate the 1968 firearm act which covers firearm sales in all 50 states.

The Juvenile Possession law.

Covered by The Firearms Control Act of 1968-The Brady campaign was seeking laws so strict that would prevent hunters under the age of 18 from ever being allowed to enjoy what is usually a family sport.

The Juvenile Sale law.

Oh come on. Definitely covered by The Firearm Control Act of 1968 it carries a 5 year prison term for the firearm dealer who does sell to a minor. This area has more to do with focusing on more local control laws since City and state politician can be "Contributed - to" more cost efficiently.

Child access prevention.

Now this is an area that on the surface of I can agree with but what they have done with these laws is what is driving away their supporters. States who put these laws on the books found people who were the victims of a robbery being charged with felony neglect. Liberal neighbors were reporting "Child Abuse" in homes when their child reported their friend's parents had firearms.Federal law requires a lock be sold with every gun purchase now. Firearm dealers are required BY Law to stock locks in the store to cover used gun purchases. These laws have proven the slippery slope theory correct in every aspect. That is not about safety its about making firearm owners so afraid they won't buy guns for fear of going to jail after being robbed.

Gun safety locks and design standards.

Bill Clinton took care of that in 1998 these people have the worst research team in history. I guess when you make it up as you go along the truth is not all that important.As stated above Locks are required in multiple areas of sales and distribution, to the point that the locks have a tendency to bounce around the packing box and tear up the stocks on wood guns. On another note this is the same thinking that has cars getting such poor gas mileage. The laws "Engineered" the cars instead of the car companies. Laws should be guides to a standard and never be involved in the look, shape, function, or feel of any item.

Allowing Cities to regulate guns

This is a squeeze play from two areas. First you allow cities to decide for their selves then you slam a bunch of trial lawyers in there and sue the cities that don't restrict the laws. Sending the insurance premiums through the roof and forcing no gun laws as a budget issue instead of a constitutional one. Frankly you just don't want your Constitutional rights to be overridden by the owner of the WeSackIt grocery.Historically when no guns are allowed home robberies go down (good for insurance companies) but personal confrontation crimes go up (bad for you but your insurance company saved money).

Secondary private sales background checks.

This is where they get out of control. This issue has nothing to do with firearms. This is an issue of property rights and whether the government has the right to regulate the ownership of property. This issue has been getting "Fuzzier" over the years. You can buy a piece of land and sell it to someone without government knowledge of the sale, but if you don't register the deed with the county they won't send you a tax bill and your land will then be taken for failing to pay taxes. It's a backdoor registration(which is only needed if you intend to disarm the public completely) , the Constitution says you have a right to buy, own, and sell without government interference. That rule of law has made this the wealthiest nation on the planet yet some think Socialism is "Better".The Gun Show Loop hole is what this is often called but most Americans call it the 4th amendment.

Concealed weapons laws

Ok if your state has NO CCW then you get an A+ if your state has one that registers the owners then really doesn't make it feasible to actually use the law you get a marginal. What is funny is New Mexico got a D- and has the strictest CCW law requiring people to be 25 years of age to even apply ( Because 21 year old college girls never get raped). This organization is actually against peoples right to be trained to defend themselves. I will bet their in favor of licences for pepper spray too.
