IIPMs Unique Global Exposure Initiative Acclaimed at Deccan Herald Best B School Awards



This is something that stuns the best of B-Schools globally. In the last two years more than 7500 students from IIPM have visited countries like USA, UK, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Australia etc. in a one of its kind global exposure initiative by IIPM. Students during this two to three week study tour visit the top corporations in these countries to get a first hand exposure to the way these organizations are managed as well as are taught by some of the best faculty members of those countries.

This is of course in addition to the huge no. of professors who visit IIPM every year from the best of global B-Schools like Wharton, Kellogg, Insead, IMD, Stanford etc. No wonder then that this pioneering initiative is being aped by B-Schools globally now and is receiving lots of acclaim in India as well. The recently held Zee Business - Synovate Best B- Schools Survey ranked IIPM overall the 7th Best B-School in India thanks to this unique initiative which also helped IIPM secure the No.1 ranking on the global exposure parameter. And just as IIPM turned 35 years last week, IIPM's academic superiority was recognized yet again at the Deccan Herald's 'Best Business School Awards' held on August 10, 2008 in Bangalore.

IIPM was conferred upon the 'Most Innovative B-School Award for its Unique Course Contents and Global Exposure'. In a business age where innovation is the key to keep pace with the times, this award is a momentous recognition to IIPM's unique initiatives.

The founder director of IIPM Dr. Malay Chaudhuri was also awarded the 'Hall of Fame Award', the highest individual recognition of the evening for his remarkable achievements and contribution towards the growth of education while the honorary dean of IIPM Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri also got the 'Best Teacher Award' for his remarkable contribution towards igniting the minds of the youth of this country. The awards ceremony was presided over by Mr. S Gopal Krishnan, CEO & MD of Infosys who was the chief guest, and Mr. K N Tilak Kumar, Editor- Deccan Herald & Prajavani. Some of the other B-Schools who won awards included IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Kolkata, XLRI (Jamshedpur), MDI, IMI and IIFT (Delhi).

The founder Director of IIPM and the man behind this unique global exposure concept, Dr. Malay Chaudhuri, said "Once the students return from their academic trip abroad, the entire atmosphere in the institute, from class rooms to canteen, changes with the new found exposure and confidence. And from this year all students of IIPM will also be getting a certificate in Advanced Global Management from one of the top 20 B-Schools in the world where they will be spending a week being taught by their professors." No wonder then IIPMs international placements this year stood at a humongous 165, the second highest in the country!
