This is exciting news for those who do not live in proximity to Boston University, but who seek nonprofit fund raising jobs and career advancement to overcome the challenges of a weak
economy and revised laws on charitable deductions by learning more creative ways to achieve their development goals.
Since 2005, hundreds of professional and aspiring fund raisers have increased their effectiveness through Boston University'ss unique on-campus fund raising certificate course. Now,
students around the nation can take advantage of this same curriculum with the online Fund Raising certificate course.
Led by Roger Broome, a prominent figure in the field with forty-plus years of experience, the twelve-week online Fund Raising course covers all aspects of a comprehensive development
plan: capital campaigns; strategic planning; planned and estate giving; development research; annual giving and stewardship; corporate and foundation giving; volunteer leadership; and
web-based fund raising. The online classroom experience is enhanced by discussions and guest lectures by senior philanthropy officers from across the non-profit sector.
Participants will learn how to strengthen current partnerships, tap into younger donors, and develop strategic tactics while networking with colleagues from across the country. The
curriculum also serves as excellent preparation for the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) exam.
The online Certificate in Professional Fund Raising starts July 20. Discover why fund raising professionals from organizations such as the United Way, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute,
Harvard University, the American Red Cross, the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), and the American Cancer Society have benefited from this energized training.
