In spite of all of the negative responses from the government and the others, Pastors R. C. Blakes, Jr. and Samuel Blakes return to the tragedy-stricken city of New Orleans. This united
assembly will be co-pastored by R. C. Blakes, Jr. and Samuel Blakes. The church will meet at its 1616 Carondelet St. location every Sunday morning at 11:00 AM and every Tuesday night at
7:00 PM. Katrina recovery information will be given weekly to parishioners in aid to keep them inform of deadlines, resources and other pertinent information.
Both Pastors have open new worship center in different states. R. C. new Worship Center is in Houston, TX and Pastor Samuel is in Atlanta, GA. Even though some of their displace
parishioners have joined them in these cities, Blakes Jr. says home is where the heart is.
Statement from R. C. Blakes, Jr.:
The rebuilding of New Orleans is very important to the face of America. New Orleans and its unique culture occupy a distinct place in the fiber of the United States. To lose New Orleans
is to leave the United States incomplete. This country without New Orleans is like New York City without Time Square. Not rebuilding is inconceivable.
We must also understand that the rebuilding of New Orleans is far deeper than the erection of new structures. New Orleans lives within the soul of its indigenous people. We must do
something to fuel the desire of its residents to want to return. New citizens may occupy the city, but the culture is not transferable. The original people are New Orleans.
It is because of this, that the New Home Family of Churches has made a commitment to rebuild our ministry in New Orleans. Two of our largest congregations are unifying into one assembly,
the East New Orleans Church and the Broadmoor Church. We feel that the citizens of New Orleans must have some spiritual direction during these dark times.
New Home is making a commitment to do all it can to rebuild our city, because it is home and always will be.
R. C. Blakes, Jr.
