Dr. Peter Saleh, Deputy Director for Global Health Security, Office of the Secretary of Defense, is an expert on the current state of healthcare throughout Afghanistan and the efforts being made in that arena. Tickets are $1000 each and can be purchased by calling 917-576-2970. This benefit dinner entirely is underwritten by the RAF committee and Board. This means 100% of the proceeds go directly to RAF projects in Afghanistan.
RAF recognizes the devastation, destruction, and tragic loss the people of Afghanistan have experienced since the Soviet Occupation in the eighties. By promoting and supporting education in the country, RAF hopes to enable its young toward a better future and build a closer connection between Afghanistan and the western world.
The RAF consists of a group of dedicated, young New York professionals and was founded in 2002 by Alexandra Coolidge and Elizabeth Hartnett. It is the only U.S. based foundation run by young professionals focused on restoring education to children in the rural areas of Afghanistan. Please see the attached fact sheet for more information on RAF and its mission.
