Springmaid Beach Resort Conference Center Becomes Family Friendly Employee Certified

Springmaid Beach Resort & Conference Center, a 27-acre beachfront resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C., received "Family Friendly" certification from the Family Friendly Business Initiative of Myrtle Beach, S.C., at the fourth annual Business Initiative Certification Luncheon held at Pine Lakes Country Club on November 16, 2004.

The Family Friendly Business Initiative is a community service project of the community coalition of Horry County and Coastal Organization of Human Resources. The organization, which awards businesses that have expressed a keen interest in their employee's personal lives, certified 12 new organizations at the annual luncheon.

The criteria for winning this award focuses on how a business deals with employee health care, flexibility of work schedule, availability of financial packages, career advancement opportunities, personal time off for family needs and the support of their employees' children's education.

"We were extremely honored to receive this award and be a part of such a growing organization," said Tim Patterson, General Manager of Springmaid Beach Resort & Conference Center. "We recognize that our staff is more productive when there is a level of support for the other priorities in their lives. Many of these benefits are not inexpensive for employers to provide, but we are committed our long term employees and their families."
