NAVAN Chill Out With Jour et Nuit



NAVAN invited chicsters to chill out with charming restaurateurs Frederick Lesort & Derek Koch as they introduced the signature house cocktail of the Fredericks Group's new bar bistro, Jour et Nuit. Featuring NAVAN liqueur and Salontea chai tea, the Jour et Nuit Chai Tea Martini's smooth vanilla taste blended with exotic tea is a "dangerously delicious concoction", according to Olivia Palermo. Contrary to the commercial admonition "do not try this at home", attendees were encouraged to reproduce their new favorite drink at home. To their delight, NAVAN and Jour et Nuit gifted their guests with a kit comprised of a recipe card and all the ingredients to make their signature cocktail. Other happy guests such as Dabney Mercer, Nicole Hanley Tracy Stern and Chad Ritchie were pampered with vanilla scented hand massages and for the adventurous -- henna tattoos in the form of the NAVAN Vanilla Orchid. Now THAT may be something "not to try at home".



NAVAN (NAtural VANilla) Liqueur is the most recent creation of the House of Grand Marnier, which is world-renowned for its expertise in making ultra-premium liqueurs such as the cognac-orange liqueur, Grand Marnier. Benefiting from this expertise and heritage, NAVAN is the only vanilla spirit made exclusively with natural vanilla from Madagascar. The most beloved spice in the world, the essence of natural vanilla is complex, powerful and evocative, and it is the star ingredient of NAVAN. Natural vanilla is derived from the Vanilla Orchid, one of 35,000 varieties of orchid that grow only in certain areas of the globe and is flown to France where it is married with fine French cognac that has been aged for up to 10 years. Once blended, NAVAN is aged for another 6 months so the flavors can mature together.



More than 150 eaux-de-vie from 500 distilleries were delicately blended to create NAVAN, resulting in a soft amber color that translates into clean and delicate notes of honey, butterscotch and vanilla bean. Subtle oak characteristics with hints of dried fruits detectable on the nose combine naturally with a full-bodied texture on the palate with consistent flavors of honey and vanilla ice-cream with pronounced dried apricots.



NAVAN also is a perfect mixer when it comes to enjoying it in a martini or simply mixed with soda and lime; the natural vanilla flavor cuts through and enhances any vanilla based cocktail, as so clearly evident in the Jour et Nuit Chai Tea Martini.



Anchored across from the quintessentially luxurious Plaza and adjacent to Bergdorf Goodman and the Paris theater, Jour et Nuit occupies prime "real estate" -- indeed, there is authentic attention to the food and service, where all congregate to share, eat, laugh, drink, and more. The menu is grounded in traditional bistro fare but is diverse with American staples and continental favorites. It is the neighborhood corner bistro but it also is an elegant destination where one can linger. Frederick Lesort, from the Fredericks Group has partnered with Derek Koch to resurrect the renowned Jour et Nuit of the nineties, bringing together the simplest of pleasures to create a time and place that is novel and yet familiar, as in greeting an old friend as well as seeing exciting new faces. It is relaxed and intimate but also vibrant and lively -- its signature cocktail captures this spirit so well, iterating the NAVAN experience.
