Electrophysics Develops Powerful RealTime Image Capture and Analysis Software Bringing Infrared RD to an Affordable Level

April 7, 2005 -- Maintaining its focus on the needs of thermal imaging users, Electrophysics is pleased to offer Velocity, a real-time image capture and analysis software, designed specifically for the PV-320 series of infrared cameras. Written using LabVIEW, Velocity features a highly intuitive interface and a library of powerful tools that enables the sophisticated analysis of the thermal behavior of a wide range of objects and materials.

Velocity features easy navigation and simple-to-understand controls that minimize the initial learning curve. A wide selection of real-time analysis tools is also available, including spot meters, line profile, area analysis (circle, ellipse and box) isotherms, radiometric variable input and time versus temperature plotting. Unique object parameters, such as emissivity and background temperature, can also be set for each measurement tool.

The PV-320's USB 2.0 output eliminates the need for video frame grabbers and enables the real-time recording of 12-bit digital video to system memory or directly to disk. Velocity also offers users the ability to effortlessly convert sequences to an AVI file suitable for Windows Media Player, with just the touch of a button.

Three versions of the software are available, compatible with each PV-320 model. Velocity Basic provides real-time PC display and video output control, Velocity Advanced works with all non-thermographic PV-320 cameras, featuring real-time recording and playback and Velocity Thermography is the full thermal analysis workstation package. For even more customization, Electrophysics offers software development kits, including Visual Basic, C++ and LabVIEW, for customers interested in developing their own custom solutions for their individual needs.
