InterAct Public Safety Systems Launches Next Generation 911 Call Handling and Dispatch System

Winston Salem, NC June 3, 2008 -- InterAct Public Safety Systems, a leading provider of public safety and security technology used by local, state, national and international government agencies, announced today that it will be demonstrating Next Generation networking and applications for the public safety industry in conjunction with Solacom Technologies, VIXXI Solutions, and HigherGround. The suite provides solutions for improved emergency call handling and dispatching and will be on display in Tampa, Florida at the 2008 NENA Annual 9-1-1 Conference June 9 - 10, 2008.

PSAP consolidation mandates and the need for inter-agency, multi-jurisdictional communication systems are driving the need for distributed applications that can enable applications to be housed in a central location and accessed over a private network. Through the combined solutions from Interact, SolaCom, VIXXI, and HigherGround, a 9-1-1 call taker will be able to pinpoint the exact location of the caller on a map, no matter what device they are using. The 9-1-1 call can be recorded and the all of the information including the location and the recording can be automatically attached to the CAD record and immediately distributed to different agencies and jurisdictions.

Today public safety is all about making sure citizens are safe and that they can communicate with public safety answering points (PSAP) regardless of the device they are using - landline, cell phone, VoIP phone, or SMS.
