20 Year Rust Protection

Situated in a flood plain in an exposed environment this old bridge was suffering from severe rusting. The importance of this bridge plus difficulty of access lead Severn Trent Water to specify an exceptionally challenging specification of a 20 year life to first major maintenance.

Director David Gee said 's8220;this was an extremely difficult application. Situated low over the river, the site is subject to regular flooding. Difficulty of access was another problem leading the client to issue a most challenging specification. Drawing on our 30 years experience of protecting structural steel around the world, we recommended a 5 coat Jenoseel system's8221;.

Jenoseel was the answer. With its unique 's8216;active's8217; formulation, Jenoseel gives 4-way protection against rust. It stabilises existing rust and its unique 's8216;active's8217; capability continues to give active protection, even after many years.

1989. An advanced 5 coat Jenoseel system was applied to fulfil this challenging requirement.

2009. Bridge still in good condition with only isolated areas of rust, easily exceeding this challenging specification. Structure only needs minimal 's8216;spot's8217; maintenance to continue to give long-term protection. Only Jenoseel was able to meet this most demanding challenge.
