Bug Labs Introduces Enterprise Solutions at JavaOne 2009

Bug Labs (http://www.buglabs.net), the New York-based company behind BUG (http://buglabs.net/products), a modular embedded device development platform based on the Java programming language, today issued a series of announcements at JavaOne 2009. The announcements include a suite of enterprise-class applications and modules, an alliance with Axeda Corporation'ss (http://www.axeda.com) partner ecosystem, the forthcoming retail availability of the BUGbee 802.15.4 radio module, and the upcoming availability of BUG in select international markets.

Bug Labs will be demonstrating several applications and modules tailored for use in the enterprise, such as:

>    a messaging and middleware application for BUG developed by Antenna Software (http://www.antennasoftware.com),

>    an innovative mobile platform for next generation field applications, from fleet management (e.g. vehicle tracking) to telemedicine (e.g. remote health monitoring).

>    a document management and analysis platform developed by startup LivingAnalytics,

>    BUGnose, its upcoming olfactory sensor module, and the first 3rd party BUGmodule, developed by JLM Innovation of Germany.

BUG takes the complexity out of developing hardware devices, said Peter Semmelhack, founder and CEO of Bug Labs. Whether a large Fortune 500 company, an R's38;D lab, or an entrepreneur such as LivingAnalytics, BUG has helped numerous organizations lower the barrier to entry and streamline their product innovation, enabling them to get to market twice as fast at half the cost.

Additionally, Bug Labs is announcing that BUGbee, its low-powered 802.15.4 radio module, will be available for $79 from Bug Labs's online store (http://store.buglabs.net) within the next two weeks. BUGbee allows developers to create personal area networks (PANs) and sensor networks for applications in security, home automation, automotive, machine-to-machine (M2M) and more.

BUG will also be shipping internationally to select European and Asian countries by the end of Q3's09, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and more, with a full list of countries to be announced in the coming weeks. International orders will initially be processed and fulfilled via Bug Labs's online store at http://store.buglabs.net.

Finally, Bug Labs is also announcing its inclusion in Axeda Corporation'ss soon-to-be-announced partner ecosystem, with more details to be unveiled by Axeda this Wednesday June 3.

Bug Labs will be located at booth #708 in the Moscone Pavilion, as well as within Java Utopia, where the company will be giving daily product demonstrations, tutorials and lightning talks. Bug Labs will also be participating in a Birds-Of-a-Feather session on Wednesday, June 3 at 6:45pm in Esplanade 303. JavaOne 2009 will take place between June 2 and June 5 in San Francisco'ss Moscone Center.
