CoreTec Communications Introduces the First Digital UniversalDecoder...

Core Tec Communications, LLC (www.CoreTec.com), a leader in digital video over IP surveillance products, today announced the new VCX 6400D Universal Decoder for displaying high quality video and images on TV and PC monitors. The VCX-6400D permits Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) organizations to decode any video format - MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4 (ASP), Windows Media/VC-1, JPEG, or H.264 in a wide range of resolutions up to HD (High Definition).

What makes the VCX-6400D unique is that it can work with both the older legacy video encoders installed years ago as well as the new H.264 based products, said Bill Batchelor, vice president, sales and marketing, Core Tec Communications. DOT departments can save thousands of dollars by installing these universal decoders from Core Tec.

Among the many features of the new 6400 series decoder are low latency and multiple outputs including S-Video, RGB, Composite Video and DVI. The device is packaged as a stand alone 1RU half wide rack mount weighing just over 5lbs or as a chassis card. This 10/100 Ethernet decoder appliance supports all popular protocols, resolutions and COM'ss as well as a full compliment of management features including On Screen Display and diagnostics. The appliance has an extended temperature range (-20's186;C to +70's186;C) for use in applications such as ITS.
