New Version of Emergency Responder Tracking System Released

"We have made sales and sent demo units out to prospective customers and we are responding to our customer requests for enhancements," says John Ellis, President of Incident Command Technologies, Inc. "Emergency scenes are often very chaotic and the task of keeping track of the personnel is a daunting one. Emergency responders have to react quickly to rapidly changing dangerous environments, and at the same time the Commanders have to know where everyone is, in case they get in to trouble."

The Laptop PAR (Version 2.0) can be used by all emergency response personnel including police, firefighters, EMS workers, etc. Everything from the assignment names to the locations to the responders names can be added or edited "on the fly." This is an enhancement over the Pocket PC system that has to be taken back to the station to be "synchronized" with the desktop to make any changes. "Although the Pocket PC has a huge advantage over the old pen and paper system and is very portable (can be carried around the scene), it has its limitations as far as making any needed changes while on the scene" Ellis said.

Firefighters will have the opportunity to see and operate the P.A.R. Version 2.0 at the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC), a national firefighter conference attended annually by over 25,000 firefighters in Indianapolis, Indiana April 27-29, 2006.
