ComVu, a developer of innovative software and automated video delivery technologies, is today demonstrating an efficient new "direct to blog" feature of its live mobile broadcasting
service at BlogOn Social Media Summit. ComVu is the first to offer mobile users the ability to transmit live video broadcasts of any length and to any size audience using ComVu's
"do-it-yourself" video network. With this technology marketing and media professionals can now broadcast breaking news, spokespeople interviews and product demonstrations easily and
inexpensively to its stakeholder audiences.
"The appeal of ComVu is very broad, but we believe the early adopters to be marketing, media companies and bloggers," says William Mutual, CEO ComVu. "Since our launch at DEMOfall, we've
already started talks with major news outlets who see the applicability of live on-the-spot mobile broadcasting from the palm of your hand."
ComVu sits at the forefront of converging developments in wireless and entertainment, where mobile phones are gaining high-end cameras and powerful processors, and where everyday people
are creating and sharing their own content. According to Pew Internet & American Life a new weblog is created every 5.8 seconds. That roughly translates into 15,000 new blogs every
day. "There is an insatiable appetite for consumer-generated media and new technologies are bringing the tools to everyday people to share their news and points of view," comments Chris
Shipley, executive producer of BlogOn. "ComVu is putting the next dimension into the hands of bloggers, media and marketing professionals. For the first time, professionals and everyday
people alike will be able to give a true view of an event and get it to the target audience real time."
With the push of a button on a camera phone or a laptop computer, users can broadcast events to their communities that can then watch the live feed on mobile devices or PCs with Windows
Media compatible players. ComVu's mobile service integrates the following key components: "one button" live video streaming capabilities, video archiving on ComVu's servers, and a
personal broadcast page directly accessed by viewers.
Key service features include:
8226; Instant notification to groups of contacts (key stakeholders) via SMS, IM or email;
8226; Inclusion of tags and other video information to help categorize and search for videos;
8226; Immediate link to personal blog to allow viewers to watch the live broadcast and later archived video.
