Host Publications is proud to announce the publication of The Five Seasons of Love, the first English-language edition of the award-winning novel by Brazilian author Joo Almino.

Brazilian writer and diplomat Joo Almino is the author of the acclaimed Braslia Trilogy, which is comprised of the Novels Ideas on Where to Spend the End of the World, Samba-Enredo, and The Five Seasons of Love (published in Portuguese by Editora Record, and in Spanish by Alfaguara). In Veja magazine, Carlos Graieb writes, "If Braslia's rock was the work of a generation, Braslia's fiction is the work of a single man: the writer Joo Almino."

Translator Elizabeth Jackson is Visiting Assistant Professor of Portuguese at Wesleyan University. She obtained her Ph.D. in Portuguese language and literature from the University of Texas at Austin. She is co-translator of Patricia Galvo's 1933 novel Industrial Park, and teaches in the Yale Summer Session in Brazil.
