Wisconsin Man Takes Advice Thirty Years After its Given Announcing the Publication of Reunions a novel by Pat Sills

May 4, 2005 -- Since the beginning of time, the majority of mankind has held to the belief that those who have passed on will be reunited with loved ones preceding them in the transition to death that we will all eventually experience. An alternative philosophy is that of being born again; perhaps once or perhaps many times, and in unique circumstances, catching glimpses of past life experiences. REUNIONS is a work of fiction based on the latter of these two ideologies.

This is the story of a man named Tom Harding, an optical lab technician who comes home from work one day to discover an unfaithful spouse. He embarks on a road trip across the country to see the coast of Maine and to escape his past. As a child, Tom experienced brief but unusual out-of-body experiences. As an adult, the frequency of these episodes has decreased, but what he doesn't realize is that they were a foreshadowing of a past further back than he could ever imagine. On his first night away from home, Tom has such an experience and dismisses it. Another experience on the second night takes him to an unexpected place. He meets Vicki Culpepper, a beautiful woman from Iowa. The attraction is mutual and immediate. Vicki joins Tom on his trip, and together they work to solve the mystery of his ever-increasing experiences. A fatal car accident, a woman named Marcy, an old Volkswagen Beetle, and Vicki herself hold keys to the answer.
