A Unique TimeTraveling Adventure

May 4, 2005 -- Andrew Rodriguez's latest novel, The Teleportation of An American Teenager, is a historical-thriller filled with action, romance, drama, and intrigue.

Imagine yourself hurdling back in time to visit the extraordinary period of the Middle Ages in ancient China. Imagine yourself on an adventurous expedition which leads through exotic palaces, romantic cities, and endless celebrations.

This is the unique situation eighteen-year-old Ivan McKinley faces in Andrew Rodriguez's latest book, The Teleportation of an American Teenager.

In 1920s New York Ivan McKinley is your typical teenager, trying desperately to find his way in the world. Though, his life is suddenly changed when he is visited by the spirit of an ancient Druid high priest from Celtic Ireland. The priest grants Ivan with a special power--the gift of time-travel. However, this method of time-traveling doesn't involve the cliche time machine or any other technical device for that matter. Ivan manages to break through the barriers of time by using his own subconscious!

Ivan must go on a mission back in time to promote spiritual well-being and everlasting peace for the future. On this mission, Ivan encounters a host of adventures--a deadly sandstorm while journeying through the "desert of no return", a band of Mongol hordes who are bent on destruction, an agonizing search in the heart of Venice, and an exhausting trip down the Silk Road--the most dangerous four thousand mile route ever traveled. He also meets several historical figures along the way, and a beautiful barbarian woman, who Ivan feels a special attraction to. Will a romance span across the ages

Most importantly, he must succeed with his mission. He must find a way to prevent the horrid events of the past from repeating themselves orall humankind will be doomed.

The Teleportation of an American Teenager blends a compelling mix of action and romance, along with drama, humor, and intrigue. In addition to these themes, Rodriguez offers a historical tale, which is meant to educate and entertain the reader at the same time. These various themes are nothing new to Rodriguez, who has written a wide range of genres from memoirs to children's books among his established works.
