WW2 Veteran Realizes Life Long Dream with the Release of First Book



Jerry Oblonsky has dreamt of writing a book since he began to read. He was inspired by childhood writer heroes: Dos Passos, Steinbeck and James T. Farrell. Born in Ohio in 1924, he served in WW2 as an aerial navigator. Upon discharge from the army he attended Ohio State University. He then worked as an engineer and project manager in Australia and Jamaica and as a Building official in the Los Angeles area. His retirement in 1990 finally allowed him the opportunity to write. He presently resides in Rossmoor, Walnut Creek with his wife Claire.

These and other stories make this an impressive debut. Oblonsky displays great intelligence, wit, depth and range. The stories vary greatly in setting, characters, style and tone. Yet an underlying theme throughout is how events influence personal response to major or seemingly insignificant bumps in the road.
