Controversal African American author Claudette Milner continues to break the mold with the sequel to

March 24, 2005 -- America is a melting pot of many diverse cultures. We are divided economically and racially. Children of Plains Estates confronts the economic divide as well as the stereotypes and prejudices. The goal of the author is to educate our youth and to provide an open forum for them to confront these issues.

The dialogue must begin in order for healing to take place.

Excerpt from Betsy's Literary Page Review

"The author brilliantly uses simplistic views and emotions of children to expose "our" prejudices, bigotries, and unfounded apprehensions based on lack of knowledge and understanding of cultural, racial, physical, and psychological differences.

I applaud you Ms. Milner, this novel; "Children of Plains Estates" could easily be viewed as the poster child for diversity training. It causes one to reflect on what individual adjustments can be made to ensure peaceful harmony in the face of diversity."

In her first novel Ms.Milner tackles racism, alcoholism, spouse abuse, the educational system, the role of the church, interacial dating, child molestation, AIDS, and other issues facing today's youth.

In her upcoming book new characters will move into Plains Estates. For the first time an African American writer will confront the racial divide between the Hispanic community and mainstream America, pedophilia in the catholic church, the Holocaust, and the affects of the economy on this close knit community.

Ms. Milner is available for speaking engagements and book signings.
