Brochstein Promoted Willcox Named Editor of The Licensing Letter

Martin Brochstein, Executive Editor of The Licensing Letter for the last nine years, has been named full-time Editorial Director of EPM Communications, overseeing all of EPM's newsletters, reports, directories and books. Marty has served in both roles since 2002.

Concurrently, James K. Willcox is named Editor of The Licensing Letter. The Licensing Letter is the leading resource for worldwide data on the business of licensing, deal-making and trends.

"Marty contributes an enormous amount of intelligence, energy and enthusiasm to the continued editorial growth of EPM," says company founder/president Ira Mayer. "Having Marty devote his full attention to the overall editorial direction of the company enables us to expand our offerings dramatically."

Jim brings two decades of experience as an editor and writer to The Licensing Letter. He got his start as Senior Editor of Toy & Hobby World, where he also was Editor of Licensing Today, a monthly licensing supplement. He has since held editorial positions at Consumer Electronics Monthly and TWICE magazines, where he became a nationally recognized authority on the videogame industry.

Jim is an active freelance writer, whose articles have appeared in The New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer, Audio, Cargo, Genre, FHM, Maxim, Men's Journal, Popular Mechanics, Popular Science, Rolling Stone, Sound & Vision and Working Woman, among others.

In addition, Jim has combined a love for music with an entrepreneurial spirit by helping to launch two online music companies that focus on developing independent artists.

"In its 29 years, The Licensing Letter has had only three editors --its late founder Arnold Bolka, Karen Raugust, and Marty. Each has added a distinctive voice to the licensing community," says Mayer. "We're fortunate to have someone with Jim's depth of experience taking the helm now."

Also at EPM, Larissa Faw is named Editor of Youth Markets Alert, a twice monthly newsletter detailing marketing to children, tweens and teens.

EPM Communications, Inc. publishes the newsletters The Licensing Letter, Entertainment Marketing Letter, Youth Markets Alert, Marketing To Emerging Majorities, Marketing to Women, and Research Alert. The company also publishes research studies and directories, and produces conferences and seminars. EPM was founded by media analyst Ira Mayer and his wife and partner Riva Bennett in 1988.

EPM's newsletters and analysts are widely recognized for their expertise in spotting trends, and understanding and interpreting consumer behavior and attitudes.
