Editor in Chief Kristy Johnson, take risky move with a new chic innovative publication for urban professional women, Shepreneur Magazine. Johnson says as broker/owner of Omega Realty Group (www.omegahometeam.com) she had nothing to lose as real estate sales were going downhill.
At 31, Johnson has been an entrepreneur since the age of 16. Shepreneur Magazine is a dream come true, finally a magazine for African American professional women said Johnson. Kristy
Johnson created the word Shepreneur, making English professionals proud because of its meaning.
Shepreneur is another word for women entrepreneurs, She (women) Preneur (entrepreneur).
Shepreneur targets high caliber known women like Kimora Lee Simmons, Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey as a platform to show what hard work and determination can produce, to some of less
known but successful professional women.
Kristy Johnson believes that parents should promote youngsters, by cultivating their talents and gift in their adolescent years. With entrepreneurship being so close to her heart Johnson
helps youth to be successful in her community and has partnered with Merrill Lynch and Dove Real Champaign for Beauty to empower girls in grades 4-12 with a youth entrepreneurial training
program ran in Maryland.
Johnson plans on helping the economy with Shepreneur Magazine by providing a resource to a under served market and a new book releasing in the fall of 09 called Don'st Let the Television
Tell-Your-Vision. This book is to help consumers find their own truth in this economy based on their own perception and not by the influence of the media.
With 30k subscribers as of the first issue released January 09 featuring Lisa Wu Hartwell from Bravo'ss Real House Wives of Atlanta, Johnson says she is on track to reach her targeted
goal of 100,000 readers in 2009. With the April 09 issue just released, featuring Kimora Lee Simmons, subscriptions have already increased. Kristy Johnson is determined to tell her own
vision in this recession. Read more about Shepreneur Magazine at www.shepreneur.com or subscribe at www.onlinemag.shepreneur.com
