NewspaperARCHIVE.com has added the Liveperson chat box functionality to its site in order to provide live help to members who are doing searches on the archive.

Once members log-in to the site, a chat panel appears and members who want help in researching articles of historical interest or who have customer service questions can get instant support.

NewspaperARCHIVE.com Customer Service Coordinator Ben Terpstra says, "it's much more efficient to satisfy user inquires in real time rather than through an extended stream of e-mail exchanges."

While the Liveperson toolset is often used in a sales context, NewspaperARCHIVE.com chose to deploy the feature as a member benefit.
