Kowalczyk was the Grand Prize winner in the 2008 Give Back to the Racers Sponsorship Giveaway. Raceway Media'ss RacingJunk.com the world'ss largest online motorsports marketplace, presents the annual Sponsorship Giveaway contest as a way of giving back to the grassroots racers who are at the heart of its membership.
Kowalczyk, who hails from Gilbert, South Carolina, is a self-described geezer who'ss been racing for 44 years. He has been an active buyer and seller on RacingJunk.com since 2004.
Kowalczyk beat out fellow finalists Ric Kole of Southington, Ohio and Manny Chaides of El Paso, Texas, who were awarded second and third place prizes, respectively.
Kole won the $15,000 Ready to Race prize package, while Chaides won the $10,000 Fill the Garage package. Each of the packages included tools and racing equipment from Giveaway sponsors
including Snap-on, Goodridge, RH2Way, Barry Grant, Simpson, Auto Meter, Safety Solutions, Holley, and Nitrous Express.
All three finalists in the 2008 Give Back to the Racers Sponsorship Giveaway were flown to Orlando for PRI, courtesy of RacingJunk.com where they waited nervously to find out which one
had won the Sponsorship Giveaway Grand Prize. The December 12th awards presentation was the climax of the Sponsorship Giveaway, which began last April. Kowalczyk, Kole and Chaides were
among the 30 weekly winners who posted their profiles, pictures and persuasive messages on RJ RaceSpace, the social network on RacingJunk.com in an attempt to get the most votes from
their fellow members. Kowalczyk, Kole and Chaides were the top three vote-getters, with Kowalczyk receiving the most votes and earning the grand prize honors.
Gavin Jerome, PINKS track announcer and Official RacingJunk.com Spokesperson, revealed that Kowalczyk had won the Grand Prize trailer at an awards presentation during the PRI
show.Pictures of the awards presentation can be viewed at http://www.racingjunk.com/2008_giveaway/voting.
The 2008 Giveaway is the second annual RacingJunk.com Sponsorship Giveaway, and plans are underway for an equally exciting 2009 program. We consider it an honor to facilitate this
program, which provides great opportunities for our members and for sponsors who are able to show their support for grass roots racers, said John Gamble, Director, Business Development
's38; Special Projects. We'sre in the process of lining up what looks to be a truly outstanding program for 2009, and are looking forward to another year of giving back to the racers who
make RacingJunk.com the top online motorsports marketplace.
