Promise to a Soldier Album to Benefit Operation Family Fund

Chateau Music Group officially released the new album by Honi Deaton & Dream titled "Promise to a Soldier" this month.

The title cut from "Promise to a Soldier" was written by Honi in honor of her Grandfather, PFC Vendil Dalton Eoff who died in WWII after less than a year in service.
The song is a very moving and powerful tribute to a fallen soldier and tells the story of her Grandmother and Mother.

Honi added, "Most importantly, it is a promise to always remember our troops that have fought for our country. It proved to be life altering for our family for generations to come. He was killed in action while fighting on the island of Okinawa on May 16, 1945. He left my Grandmother an eighteen year-old widow, and their six month old daughter that he had only seen in pictures."

Honi further explained, "Only four servicemen in my Grandfather's Infantry Division returned from Okinawa. This incomprehensible loss of life is almost unrealistic. While trying to raise a daughter and working many jobs just to survive, my Grandmother lived with this grief. While this story is familiar to many families across the country today, it is still a devastation that many of us are not aware of. Hopefully this song will help to explain a reality of what the families of our fallen and disabled troops have to go through."

Honi Deaton & Dream have announced that two dollars from every 'Promise to a Soldier" CD will be donated to Operation Family Fund to support the families of fallen and disabled troops. More information on this organization can be found at www.OperationFamilyFund.org or by calling 760-793-0541.

Honi wrote six songs on the album including the title song and co-wrote I'm Callin' Jesus with Glen Garrett and Am I Losin' You with Randy Glenn. Other songwriters on the project include Don Hecht, Hank Locklin, Patsy Montana and Roy Crain.

"The new project is awesome!! I was privileged to get a copy in advance and it's strong, strong, and strong. Great songs, fantastic harmony and the players are outstanding. I look forward to sharing it with our listeners," exclaimed Dennis Jones at WNCW-FM Radio.
