Decemberthe onset of a long rain season in Seattleand the watery skies aren'st the only thing showing no signs of letting up. December 2 marked the long-anticipated release of the full-length debut CD, Cigadent, by up-and-coming female-fronted punks, Hills of Elysium. Affectionately dubbed HoEs by fans and locals, Hills of Elysium have been shock-rocking their way though the Seattle post-grunge scene for the last 2 years, and they'sre only getting started.
With Cigadent, the band presents an edgy blend of punk, metal, and hard rock elements, in the musical vein of bands such as Jack Off Jill, Human Waste Project, and Animal Alpha. Fusing
inspirations from a wide array of genres, Cigadent takes the listener on a musical roller coaster ride, from dark yet pop radio-friendly tracks like the enthralling Planet Full of
Strangers and Ghosting, to angst-driven punk offerings like Tax the Obese and Bullets vs. Bullhorns that are far less for the faint of heart.
Hills of Elysium also pay homage to their influences, particularly in their stunning cover of Jack Off Jill'ss Angels F*ck. While staying true to the original, the band still manages to
deliver a memorable variation -- lacing it with September Garland'ss signature vocal angst and stamping it unapologetically with their signature HoE brand. Cigadent is a dizzying cinema
of heavy and melodic guitars, distorted, raunchy bass, hard hitting drums and ultra-dynamic vocals. Topped off with its catchy, thought provoking and socially critical lyrics, this album
is sure to grab and hold the fickle ADD generation'ss full attention -- from start to finish.
Cigadent was recorded at the acclaimed Robert Lang Studios in Shoreline, Washington, released and marketed by Crash Revolution Records, and is distributed by SINister Records in Seattle.
Cigadent is available at www.SINisterRecords.com, CD Baby, Amazon.com iTunes and other music retailers. More information on Hills of Elysium,
