CoActiv EXAMPACS Integrates OrthoView Templating Software



February 3, 2005 -- CoActiv Medical Business Solutions of Ridgefield, CT, a software and systems provider to hospitals and radiology imaging centers, today announced the integration of Meridian Technique's Orthopedic templating software, OrthoView, with CoActiv EXAM-PACS, a full solution picture archiving and communications system. This seamless integration offers users of CoActiv's EXAM-PACS the ability to plan and prepare for orthopedic surgical procedures using OrthoView's latest surgical planning tools.



OrthoView is an orthopedic digital imaging solution that allows orthopedic surgeons to pre-plan surgical procedures using templates for knees, hips and other joints. In conjunction with CoActiv EXAM-PACS, OrthoView enables the surgeon to template an exam from the same viewing station the surgeon uses to view digital radiological images. A diagnostic exam and OrthoView's comprehensive library of digital templates, from all major orthopedic appliance manufacturers, can be used in tandem to prepare for a procedure. OrthoView gives doctors the ability to map-out and notate a surgical procedure in a digital environment where the surgical planning record, the original diagnostic digital image and the detailed templating tools are all combined and automatically saved within the original exam for future reference.
