Utah Chapter of Nahro Presents Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient Jim Kier Recognized as a Pioneer in Affordable Housing
May 19, 2005 -- Jim Kier, founder of Kier Management, one of Utah's most established property management companies specializing in government-assisted housing programs and tax credit properties, low-to-mid-market conventional housing, all types of homeowners' associations (HOAs) and commercial management, recently was presented with a National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials' (NAHRO) Lifetime Achievement Award by the Utah chapter. The luncheon, held at the Holiday Inn in St. George on April 21st, recognized Kier's commitment to government-assisted programs and tax credit properties.
The award is part of NAHRO's annual convention and was presented to Kier by Rosemary Kappes, executive director, Housing Authority of Salt Lake City. Kier's wife, Norma and daughter, Bonnie Kier-Herrick were in attendance.
"We are honored to acknowledge the contributions Jim has made to government-assisted programs and tax credit properties," said Kappes. "His work has had a tremendous impact throughout Utah and he has built an enduring legacy, which his children are now carrying on for the next generation."
The Kier family has built that legacy over the last 44 years, with three successful companies specializing in commercial, residential and multi-family properties throughout Utah and the Rocky Mountain region. During that time, Jim has instilled his well-known values of integrity, quality, professionalism and community involvement in Bonnie Kier-Herrick and Kimi Kier-Noar, who now serve as Kier Management's new leadership as president and vice-president, respectively.
For 33 years, Kier Management has successfully built a reputation of superior customer service and value-added services for property owners and tenants. The company enhances client assets through efficient, compliant operational processes; careful cost-management; and quality customer service to both owners and tenants. Financial, managerial and operational aspects of managing properties are efficient and cost-effective, without comprising the exceptional customer service associated with the Kier name.
