As the Commercial Real Estate Industry Grows So Does Diversity



On July 1, 2005, close to 75 commercial real estate professionals gathered at MidCity Cuisine in Atlanta, Georgia. The event, hosted by minorities in the industry was a grand success.

James Pitts, Principal at Kellogg Partners states, "Commercial real estate has a formula to it - great relationships come first and the opportunity to provide excellent service falls out of that. Events like this are the key to creating and strengthening the network of relationships that allow us to continue to grow and do what we love to do."

Professionals including Lynn Smith of Cushman & Wakefield, Tony Johnson of Aspen Development, Maranda Walker of Staubach, James Pitts of Kellogg Partners, Mark McGruder of Jones Lang LaSalle, Laler DeCosta of INVESCO, Tennyson Williams of Southpointe Partners Ltd, Kandy Outlaw of Jackson Securities, Brian Miller of Carter Real Estate, Ernest Kiser Jr. of Caldwell Banker Commercial, Patricia Luster of Rare Hospitality International, - just to name a few - attended this networking social.

There were many members of ACRE Network, an organization launched in 2003 that is focused on promoting the exchange of information, ideas, and acts as a conduit for building relationships for minorities in the Commercial Real Estate Industry.

Also in attendance were graduates of Project REAP, a program that recruits and trains minorities for professional careers in commercial real estate .
