Award winning Realtor John Griggs shared his experience of developing his referral base with new agents of Avery Hess Realtors during a Star Session. John shared his approach of target
marketing by focusing on narrowing competition from thousands of Realtors to just 2 or 3 Realtors. This approach is crucial when beginning a real estate career.
John particularly discussed marketing to the Latino population in a Latino Yellow pages that at the time only had 3 Realtors advertising. He also highlighted the fact that he was an
American who spoke Spanish. This approach was successful in that his first clients chose him for exactly this reason.
John also shared with new agents that in the beginning he just wanted to survive and pay the bills. However, he succeeded in building up his referral base one client at a time by focusing
on providing great service to each. Now almost 100% of business comes from his referral base.
