The Historic Robison Mansion & Carriage House is once again up for sale. The timeless beauty of this 1884 Victorian home offers elegance and prestige to all who enter.



After making his fortune in the mining districts of Leadville and Cripple Creek, Colorado, Scottish immigrant, Lyman Robison built the mansion and moved his family to Caon City, Colorado to "enjoy the good life".



Upon his death, the mansion was inherited by his children, David and Margaret. David, widowed early in life, lived alone in the mansion for the next 35 years during which time the house fell into a state of neglect and disrepair. In 1989 the mansion was extensively remodeled with particular attention to details reminiscent of the period in which it was originally built.



In addition, the interior fixtures were replaced with large elaborate chandeliers imported from Italy. The elegant craftsmanship throughout the home is evident in such features as the 3-story Honduras Mahogany staircase imported from Austria and entirely hand-crafted using no nails; the 14 foot ceilings featuring decorative rose and leaf motif Fresco work painted with gold leaf; and the wine cellar capable of storing 2,400 bottles.



The exterior construction is of French influence with a decorative Mansard roof, Tuscan columns in the front of the house frame a classical portico added in 1901.



In addition, the 3,000 square foot Carriage House has served as a fine dining establishment and is an excellent venue for special events and banquets.



This beautiful home, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in October of 1984, is truly a timeless treasure.
