Glidden Auto Body Named 2008 CARQUEST Automotive Finishes Excellence...



John Coughlin from Glidden Auto Body in Bangor, Maine has been named the 2008 CARQUEST Automotive Finishes Excellence Award Winner. The award was presented October 10 in Charlotte, North Carolina.





The CARQUEST Automotive Finishes Excellence Award is the highest honor a professional business owner can receive from CARQUEST's174;. It seeks to recognize the top collision center businesses in North America that, through the course of everyday service excellence, exemplifies the professionalism necessary to build public understanding and respect for people working in the auto service industry today. It is an award that is not won, but earned.



Glidden Auto Body truly exemplifies the meaning of the CARQUEST Automotive Finishes Excellence award through their strong community involvement along with the strong commitment to quality and customer service, said Jay Sharp, Vice President of Marketing, CARQUEST Automotive Finishes.



Randy Gard, president of Chief Automotive Technologies, the only collision repair equipment provider to serve as a member of the judging committee for the award, commented, This was an extremely difficult decision, as all of the nominated facilities were outstanding representatives of CARQUEST'ss philosophy of professionalism and service to their customers, and continued with, Chief Automotive and CARQUEST share very similar approaches to quality products and services, which is why we value our continued partnership so highly.



Since 1964, Glidden Auto Body has been providing the finest auto body repair and refinishing services with unsurpassed customer service to its neighbors in Bangor, Maine. In 1989, John Coughlin purchased the business, then faced rebuilding it in 1998 after an ice storm led to its roof collapsing, destroying it. The business operated at a temporary location until the existing facility was completed in 2000. Today Glidden Auto Body is a 24,000 square foot state of the art collision repair facility with more than 20 employees.
