New Evidence Found for CRP as an Independent Marker for Heart Disease...



New clinical evidence indicates that a measurement called high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP) is an independent marker that can pinpoint those at risk for stroke or heart attack even when cholesterol measurements are normal. The new study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, now reveals that CRP is an effective independent predictor for increased risk of heart disease, even among individuals whose LDL cholesterol counts were found to be at normal levels.
