Beer lovers have even more cause to celebrate, now that Doherty's East Ave. Irish Pub has received some press attention from Gail Ciapa, The Providence Journal's Food Editor. Pub-goers can have their choice of 155 different types of beer, 42 of which are on draft at the bar and restaurant.

Many of these beers can be paired with different dishes, to bring out the flavor of the food. Examples of the different types of food that were mentioned in the article include: For example, according to the review, the Left Hand Sawtooth Ale " went to the head of the class with its balancing bitter notes" which complemented the taste of the pulled pork barbeque dish.
