Lazeeza Kebab Mediterranean Restaurant & Caf is gaining popularity amongst Columbus locals as the Columbus Dispatch recently featured the dining establishment and their highlighted menu items. The daily newspaper provides information on local news, university and national sports, business, lifestyle and entertainment.
The article, titled "Atmosphere proves as rewarding as menu's middle eastern fare," explains how the outside appearance of Lazeeza doesn't amount to the dishes inside the restaurant. "The
tabbouleh salad ($3.95) has many pluses: It features mostly parsley, with hints of fresh mint, some chopped fresh tomatoes and just enough bulgur to provide texture," wrote Columbus
Dispatch writer Jon Christensen.
Christensen continues through the menu and its highlights. "The falafel ($2.95 as a sandwich) is clearly made from scratch. The chickpeas are ground coarsely to a texture that's more
interesting than the pasty, finely ground versions. The flavor is bright with parsley and spices, and the salt level is low. The deep-fried patties are dressed with hummus and wrapped
inside very thin pita bread."
Another favorite is the beef shawarma sandwich with features marinated beef cut from a vertical roasting spit seasoned with fenugreek and other spices, then dressed with tahini sauce. The
sandwich is wrapped in thin pita bread that has been crisped on a flat grill.
