The Limani Seafood Grill, a restaurant in Westfield, New Jersey that features both Greek and seafood specialty dishes, was recently featured in the Star Ledger for its generous portions as well as having some of the best seafood in the Westfield area.
The restaurant was opened late last year by George Vastardis, who learned his cooking abilities from his father, a retired chef living in Greece. Vastardis has owned several restaurants,
so Limani Seafood Grill is run smoothly and professionally.
The Limani Seafood Grill, which is named for the Greek word for port, was formerly called the Blue Water, then more recently, the Blue Wave, all names to honor the fact that their best
items on the menu are prime seafood dishes.
The wide menu selection is the work of Chef Joseph Mattos, who was recently a sous chef at Rockefeller Center's Sea Grill, and was educated at the New York Restaurant School.
The menu includes items such as lump crab cakes, shrimp and tomato bruschetta, lobster rolls and New York Strip steak.
The ambience of the Limani Seafood Grill is cozy, having only a few tables in the front dining area and the rest of the tables and seating being past the kitchen in a large room in the
back, where the walls are decorated with colorful mosaics.
The Limani Seafood Grill menu items are meant to share, and the conversation and atmosphere ask for a loud, friendly good time.
