Scott Purchases Landmark



Well known, Portsmouth based entrepreneur Andy Scott (27 years old) takes over the largest bar at Port Solent.



Andy Scott, Chairman of The Ascott Group, who lives in Old Portsmouth has purchased the Watermark Bar, at Port Solent. The bar was purchased from Fullers Brewery for an undisclosed sum (Fullers recently purchased Gales Brewery for over £ 90 million pounds).



The Ascott Group plan to increase the bar trade by bringing in a range of live and background music to encourage people to spend more time in the Port Solent area, the music will be complimented by a continental feel to the place.



On Sunday's8217;s the aim will be to have a Sunday Jazz brunch and lunch at The Watermark Bar and this is bound to appeal to both the local market as well as those with boats in the marina looking for a relaxing place to chill out whilst eating, drinking and having fun.



Chairman of Ascott Group, Andy Scott states, I am really pleased with the purchase of The Watermark Bar, I think it is by far the best spot in Port Solent and has tons of potential, it is especially important to me as it is in my home town. I sincerely hope that people who have not come to Port Solent for a while will come back and see us this summer so they can experience the changes we aim to make first hand.
